First collaboration between Yaron Abulafia and Andrew McNicol and the National Ballet of Portugal.
The program consists of pieces by William Forsythe, George Balanchine and Andrew McNicol (creation).
Andrew McNicol has worked as a choreographer for companies such as the Royal Ballet of London, the Joffrey Ballet, the Royal Ballet of Flanders and his own company, McNicol Ballet Collective.
McNicol's work stands out for its poetic beauty and a deep connection between movement and music. Classical dance is the basis of his work, but McNicol always creates a contemporary style, which is created from the inspiration that the body of dancers offers him. The young British choreographer is recognized for telling stories and portraying strong emotions through dance, both in the pieces he creates for the stage and in those he creates for his digital dance project with the McNicol Ballet Collective.
This new creation is a first collaboration with the Companhia Nacional de Bailado, for both Yaron and Andrew. Yaron will design the scenography and lighting.
World premiere: March 14th, 2024,
